Check out the kids getting ready for Halloween (2010)
So I’m onto the 2nd day of P90X yesterday and it was a killer. I have never worked my legs that hard for a long time. I could barely stand or walk and I didn’t even complete the whole exercise.. I decided to stop at 20 min mark because since it was my first time for this routine, I didn’t want to kill myself… I was so sick that I had to press Stop… I will come back to this routine and hopefully the next time, it’d be a lot better.
I do need some recovery drink to reduce the soreness in the muscles… I can feel the pain all over my body!!!!
Check out Dustin as a star in this HowCast video. This is our first attempt to contribute to the network!
Took my 7D out to the heavy snow day in February. It’s one of a life time that we have that heavy snow fall in Texas so I thought I could bring my 7D out to play… The 7D is weather proof so I had it bare in the snow!!! I wish I had an eye piece to focus though, the LCD makes it almost impossible to focus. We had a great time and though footage looks a bit jumpy and shaky, it didn’t look too bad. I used Nikon 50mm 1.4 lens, had it at F16 almost all the time, ISO 100. I might have had the wrong shutter speed as I was taking pictures with it as well… still need to learn to adjust it when switching! LOL
Minor CC and grading in After FX.

I brought out my 7D at my dad’s 70th birthday. It was a great experience. I was using the cheapo Canon 50mm 1.8 lense and found it extremely hard to manual focus due to its’ small focus ring on the lens. I didn’t have any other fast lens at the moment so while it was great at low light I am not sure if I’d want to use as my go-to lens… the last bit I was switching to my FD 28mm 2.8 and it’s a little better for focusing but I found the image quality is a bit more saturated but at the same time, softer. I kept my ISO mostly at 400 and some cases at 800. Edited in Premiere and graded with After FX.
There still are a lot to learn with this camera and I’m loving it!
EDIT: not sure what’s with the choppy play and ghostly effects…
Highlight of my son’s last basketball game. He’s a 1st grader at Whitt Elementary and joined Upward Basketball team at Wylie Church. This is his last game so I thought I could bring my 7D to tape it and here’s a quick highlight of the game. The score ended up to be 48-10. The Eagles crushed the Thunder…LOL It was a fun game to watch.Shot 720p at 60fps for some slo-mo using a Canon kitlens 28-135
Taking my 7D to my son basketball game. His team is Eagles and the other team is the Bears. They were all great. I had my camera handheld with a 50mm 1.8 lens… I should have brought a longer lens but it was all good. Wish I had my tripod though …lol
Anyways, enjoy!
I did a color grading on the clip as below:
Another test with an old FD lens
FD 28mm f/2.8
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/125
1920×1080 30p resized to 1280×720 30p
No Color Correction.
I notice that the output h.264 has much lower contrast as the original file from the camera… what gives? I read up some handy tricks with quicktime but still couldn’t fix it… that sucks…
So I finally got a new toy. A brand new Canon EOS 7D!!! This is so awesome, the camera is awesome! An awesomeness…. and that’s pretty awesome! LOL
Here are some pics as I unwrapped the bad boy:

Here is a first pic I took after few hours playing around. Settings are: 50mm f/1.8 ISO 6400 1/125
